Egg, Another Day of Life Crown Anilogue 2018 Awards

During the 2018 Anilogue fest (which opened with MIchel Ocelot's Dilili in Paris), the jury for short  and feature films  was comprised of: Piotr Kardas /  Festival director, Curator (Poland), Veljko Popović / Director (Croatia) and Melinda Kiss / Head of Animation Institute, METU (Hungary), Frantisek Ambrus / Producer, CEO Puppetworks Animation Studio (Hungary), Pedro Rivero  / Producer, Director, Screenwriter (Spain) and  Draško Ivezić / Producer, Director, Screenwriter (Croatia).

Among the  30 candidates to  receive the Best of Anilogue - Cartoon Network Award, and the €2.000 cash award with it, as well as the Best Feature Animation Award, the jury choose the Egg by Martina Scarpelli as their favorite.

Special mention (Pedro Rivero) was given to the Portuguese Agouro by David Doutel and Vasco Sà, while Olivér Hegyi  took home a special award by Frantisek Ambrus for Take Me Home.

A rather neglected from the festival circuit short, the 2D dramatic  How Steel Was Tempered by Igor Grubić won a Jury Special Award (Veljko Popovic), while another dramatic effort, the French Grandpa Walrus (read our review here) by Lucrèce Andreae won the Audience Award.

In the feature film category, the Polish/Spanish Another Day of Life (Raúl De La Fuente and Damian Nenow) prevailed, while Funan by Denis Do took home a Special Mention.
