Rumour abound on the net the last few hours about a possible sequel to the much-loved Finding Nemo.

It seems that all have started with Deadline's exclusive article. It states that Andrew Stanton (two Academy Awards for Wall-E and Finding Nemo) seems to return to direct a sequel of the beloved Pixar sea story.

Hollywod Reporter picked up the story, and adds more details. Victoria Strouse (The Apostles of Infinite Love), is writing the script and Lindsey Collins is producing. It also reports that a 2016 release is being scheduled.

Is Pixar heading towards sequels? Cars 2 was not successful, and the first Pixar feature film not to be nominated for an Academy Award since 2005.

Monsters University (a prequel to Monsters Inc.) has already a teaser trailer,  and a theatrical June 21, 2013 release.

Finding Nemo (3D)  on the other hand, is being re-released in 14 September 2012 (US)
