Disney seeks editorial trainee - Fall 2012

walt-disneyDisney announced the position of an editorial trainee, under its Fall 2012 talent development program.

 

 

Disney's  The Talent Development Artist Program is available for recent graduates of undergraduate or graduate programs (within three years of graduation date) for a 3- or 6-month paid position at Walt Disney Animation Studios.

 

The Talent Development Artist Program offers a chance for animators  to understand the depth of their new skills, refine and strengthen key areas, and see a real-time production environment.

 

Job Description:

Editors digitize, organize, and manage the editorial process to ensure that the story and editing of the project meets the artistic vision. They will prepare and handle dailies screenings (sweatbox sessions) under direction of the Production Supervisor, create cut lists for assistants and the crew, and establish procedures for working and organizing Avids to be used by editorial. Editorial Trainees wil work with a mentor to learn our editorial pipeline and EDI tools (digital tools) as well as pre-production, production, and post-production processes.

 

Reels/portfolios/demonstrated skills should include:

  • Experience using Avid Editorial Systems
  • Photoshop experience
  • After Effects experience preferred
  • The ability to quickly solve editorial problems alone or as part of a team
  • Organization and attentiveness to deadlines
  • Exposure to the art of animation through an independent or collaborative film project(s) helpful

 

The Talent Development program will be held at our Burbank, CA studio beginning in the Fall of 2012.
