Annecy Festival and MIFA 2014: Call for projects

annecy-generic-logoAnnecy 2014 launches call for projects for the Annecy festival and MIFA.



The 38th Annecy International Animation Film Festival it will take place between 9 and 14 June 2014.


Any audiovisual animation, created frame by frame, made for the cinema, television and any other screening platform may be entered to the Annecy Festival.


Only works completed after 1st January 2013 and never previously entered at the Annecy Festival will be accepted.


The works must be submitted to one of the following categories in order to compete:
a) short films
b) feature films (made for the cinema with a running time of over 60 mins)
c) TV films
- TV series (episodes from a series previously selected in the last edition will not be accepted)
- TV special
d) commissioned films
- educational, scientific or industrial films
- advertising or promotional films
- music videos
e) graduation films.


Submission deadlines

Feature films: 15 March 2014

All other categories: 7 February 2014


There is no entry fee.

MIFA is also now launching call for projects (short films, feature films, TV series or specials, transmedia).


Specifically, only projects that have been previously registered online at and whose paperwork is complete and have been sent before the deadline may be submitted.


Only animated short film projects, feature film projects and TV series or special projects in their first concept phase that will be presented by one (or more) author(s) can be submitted.


Registering a project should be done on an individual basis by its author(s).


Only one project per author(s) can be submitted. The project presented must not be part of a school syllabus or have been pre-purchased by a TV channel.

Any project already associated with a producer can be submitted. The deadline for receiving paper and digital files is the 3rd of February 2014 and there is no registration fee.


Transmedia projects, using full or a large majority of animation, shall meet the following conditions:
- initially created to be developed across at least 2 different media: the cinema, television, video games (off or online), mobile phones, internet etc. Projects specifically for the cinema or television will not be accepted
- be at the writing or development stage
- be presented by their author(s) and/or an animation producer.
- An author still studying can submit a project as long as it is personal and not part of the school syllabus. Only one project per author and producer can be submitted.


The deadline for receiving paper and digital files is the 21st of February 2014 and there is no registration fee.
