Animation Development Course Cuba is an eight week programme for developing short independent animation from initial story idea to pre-production. The course will run from 14 January until 15 March 2019.
Based at the famous Cuban film school EIC-TV at San Antonio de los Baños, outside Havana, this course is designed for animation directors, who wish to have professional support to develop a short film. The development programme will be led by Paul Bush with modules taught by Joanna Quinn and Gerd Gockell in design, storyboarding and editing animation.
Participants will also be encouraged to take part in the life of the film school, attend the film screening and lecture programmes that take place every evening and engage with other students.
The course will be taught in English and Spanish. 12 participants maximum will be accepted. The total cost of the course, including accommodation and three meals a day, is 3,500 euro. The deadline for applications is 30 September 2018.
To apply, those interested are requested to submit one page CV, one page idea including technique and designs where relevant, as well as a link to one film which they have directed or played an important creative part.
