Con A de Animación (CAA) is an academic peer-reviewed journal focused on the study of the theoretical, technical, artistic and human aspects of the production of animated images. CAA is indexed by Scopus, ESCI (Thomson & Reuters), Latindex and Dialnet, among other data bases. CAA is published twice a year, in March and September, and it is entirely open-access.
For this call for papers we suggest the following thematic framework: ANIMATION, A SPACE FOR ART. Articles on artist-animators, independent animation, articles that explore animation's relationship with the other arts (music, architecture, dance, etc.), and even animation's incursions into exhibition spaces can be submitted. Likewise, we also invite you to explore the art of animation, its characteristics as a language and as a means of artistic expression. However, as usual, original and unpublished works may be presented without thematic restriction or focus, as long as they are related to animation:
- Theoretical, aesthetic or analytical reflections.
- Chronicles and historical research.
- Analysis from the practice of the medium.
- Teaching experiences.
- Interdisciplinary approaches (literature, cinema, arts, comics, video games, etc.).
The articles received will first pass a review by the Editorial Committee, and later the evaluation by blind peers, whose report will determine the acceptance for publication. Articles can be accepted in languages other than Spanish, as long as the author or authors can provide a translated version for publication.
