Con A de Animación (CAA) is an academic peer-reviewed journal focused on the study of the theoretical, technical, artistic and human aspects of the production of animated images. CAA is indexed by Scopus, ESCI (Thomson & Reuters), Latindex and Dialnet, among other data bases. Since 2020, CAA is published twice a year, in March and September, and it is entirely open-access.
For this call for papers we propose a double thematic framework: GENDER ANIMATION / ANIMATION GENRES. However, as usual, original and unpublished works may be presented without thematic restriction or focus, as long as they are related to animation:
- Theoretical, aesthetic or analytical reflections.
- Chronicles and historical research.
- Analysis from the practice of the medium.
- Teaching experiences.
- Interdisciplinary approaches (literature, cinema, arts, comics, video games, etc.).
The articles received will first pass a review by the Editorial Committee, and later the evaluation by blind peers, whose report will determine the acceptance for publication. Articles can be accepted in languages other than Spanish, as long as the author or authors can provide a translated version for publication. The recommended length for these articles is between 3,500 and 5,000 words (excluding bibliography or notes). It is important to write the article adhering to the rules established in our style manual.
