Festival Description: 
International Film Festival Etiuda&Anima consists of 2 international competitions: of films from film and art schools – ETIUDA, of animation (professional, student and independent) – ANIMA and since 2017 national competition for animation - ANIMA.PL. The latest strategy for the development of the event assumes, in particular, promotion of Polish creativity in the field of animation. Along with foreign guests invitations, a special emphasis will be put on the development of the industry part of the program, including: lectures, conferences, pitching forums, case studies, discussion panels addressed to both professionals and film environment adepts. The Festival wants to support development and strengthen the position of Polish post-production film, to increase the interest of film environment in animation, to increase interest in Poland as a partner in the production of film and animation as well as special effects. Important objective of the Festival is the penetration of the tradition and achievements of visual audio culture with the simultaneous observation and registration of transformations taking place within the dynamically developing information society.



2020 Call for entries:

Εntries are open for Etiuda&Anima 2020

  • ETIUDA COMPETITION – international film competition for student etudes made at film and fine art schools
  • ANIMA COMPETITION – international competition for professional, independent and student animation.  ANIMA festival competition allows the applicants to submit animated films (including professional and independent films as well as student etudes) which do not exceed 30 minutes in length and were made between years 2018-2020.

The following Prizes will be awarded at the ANIMA 2020 competition:

Grand Prix – Golden Jabberwocky and a cash prize
Silver Jabberwocky
Bronze Jabberwocky
Special Golden Jabberwocky for the best student animation of the Festival. The Jury have also the right to award three Honorary Diploma

2018 Festival Poster and Trailer

Autumn has begun, which means that Etiuda&Anima is drawing near. In order to make your waiting time more pleasant the festival would like to present to you the new promotional spot, created exclusively for the 25th anniversary of the event. Its authors are Kaja Renkas and Iwona Pomianowska. The video, created on the basis of a poster by Kaja Renkas, draws inspiration from “Renaissance”, a 1964 animated film by Walerian Borowczyk.

2019 Call For Entries (

ANIMA festival competition allows the applicants to submit animated films (including professional and independent films as well as student etudes) which do not exceed 30 minutes in length and were made between years 2017-2019. The preview copies of the films should be submitted to the Festival Organization Office in the form of a digital file (mp4, mov or a link to the film available on an open-access video platform).

The following Prizes will be awarded at the ANIMA 2019 competition:

  • Grand Prix – Golden Jabberwocky and a cash prize
  • Silver Jabberwocky
  • Bronze Jabberwocky
  • Special Golden Jabberwocky for the best student animation of the Festival. The Jury have also the right to award the Honorary Diplomas.
