The Last Bus, Wrinkles crown the 19th Stuttgart Animation Festival

 More than 80.000 persons were in the vibrant atmosphere of the 19th Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Films.

The Last Bus, the hybrid animation/pixillation and live action tale of hunting season and a bus with their passenger, directed by Martin Snopek and Ivana Lauĉiková won the Grand Prize of the festival.

Best graduation film was awarded to the black-and-white German film HELDENKANZLER (dir. Benjamin Swiczinsky),  about the Austrian dictator Engelbert Dollfuss.while the audience award also went to Germany and the film Atlas (dir. Aike Arndt, 2011).

 The Estonian Ülo Pikkov won the Meckatzer Lena-Weiss-Award for his 2010 stop-motion form, Body Memory. The AniMovie award for the best feature film went to the Spanish drama about the elderly (and Goya-awarded), Wrinkles [review].
