107 Animation Shorts for Animafest Zagreb 2022: Selection Results

Among 1800 submitted films from 91 countries from across the world, 107 animation shorts were selected for the 2022 edition of  World Festival of Animated Film - Animafest Zagreb in three categories: Grand Competition – Short Film (47 films) , Student Film Competition (42 films) and Croatian Film Competition

The festival "strongly condemned' the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but accepted films from Russian animation directors in the selection, who, in addition, ' have publicly condemned the
aggression'. The festival decided not to mention Russia as the country of production in those films.

Besides Animafest’s artistic director Daniel Šuljić, other members of the selection committee for the Grand Competition – Short Film and Croatian Film Competition were Margit Antauer and
Vesna Meštrić, while Kata Gugić and Hrvoje Selec selected films in the Student Film Competition category.
