Festival Description:
AnimaQUEER is a queer-themed animation film festival. That is, only animated films whose narrative revolves around sexual diversity will be presented, with LGBTQIAPN+ main characters, or with stories that revolve around their sexuality.
The festival arises from the need to give visibility to animations that depart from heteronormative standards, since there is a great taboo in the world of animation regarding Queer characters. In this way, we create a space for these animations to be seen and celebrated.
2026 Call for Entries
- Short films are films with more than 1 minute and less than 30 minutes in length.
The festival accepts films in the following categories:
A) International Short Film: animated short films from all over the world.
B) Brazilian Short Films: animated short films from Brazil.
The submitted films will be evaluated and can compete in the following categories:
Best International Film
Best National Film
Best Animation
Best Screenplay
Best Director
Best Character Design
Best Scenary Design
Best Art Direction
Best Soundtrack
Best Poster
Best Edition
Best Original Voice
