Event Description: SMOF in Argentina is the only animation film festival with a focus on stop motion that is currently taking place in South America. An international and competitive festival, with a clear emphasis on audiovisual education and training, it promotes cinema and its creation as transforming tools for society. Every year SMOF offers short film competitions, industry panels, workshops, exhibitions, clinics, seminars, laboratories, meetings, conferences, courses, and talks given by leading figures in animation from Argentina and from different parts of the world, free of charge, to facilitate access to public to educational and training proposals of international quality.
2026 Call for Entries
Eligibility criteria and awards:
The contest is open, with no age limit. Individual or collective. The following categories in animation will be awarded:
1. Participants can present their work individually or collectively.
2. The works must be original with the free use of music rights.
3. Works made from 2024 to the present can participate.
4. Works with mixed techniques can participate where more than 70% is done in stop motion.
