Northern Animation Network 2026

N.A.N. (Northern Animation Network) is the collaboration between: Viborg Animation Festival (Denmark), Fredrikstad Animation Festival (Norway), BLON Animation & Games Festival (Lithuania), REX Animation Film Festival 

2026 Call for Entries

Northern Animation Network shares one FilmFreeway account for short film submissions to four leading Nordic and Baltic festivals. Submit your film to the Northern Animation Network and get considered for:

• Fredrikstad Animation Festival (Norway)
• Viborg Animation Festival (Denmark)
• REX Animation Festival (Sweden)
• BLON Animation & Games Festival (Lithuania)

1. Eligibility: Open to all animated films using any technique - analogue, digital, mixed, though Ai must be specified - including hybrid productions combining animation with live-action.

2. Length: Short films must not exceed 30 minutes incl. credits

3. Completion Date: Films must be no older than January 1, 2025

4. Genres and Categories: All genres are welcome. Each festival's curator and pre-selection jury has the right to select the films for specific categories according to genre, target group, and/or geography, e.g., commissioned work, kids programmes, experimental categories, Nordic/Baltic programme, student work, etc. More information for each of the festival’s categories can be found on their homepage.
