Black Sea Animation Workshop 2025: Selected Participants

Black Sea Animation Workshop participants projects collage

The second edition of Black Sea Animation Workshop has now selected its participants. The regional animation industry event, this year in Sofia (25-29 November 2025), aims to further develop and network the emerging animation stage in the Black Sea countries (Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, and Georgia), with Moldova joining as the guest country.

This year, the jury has chosen 12 projects out of 93 submissions received from all eligible countries, two from each participating country and one from Moldova (guest country).

The overall level of applications was highly diverse, professional, and inspiring. Some projects are already at an advanced stage of development, while others are just starting their creative journey. - Black Sea Animation Workshop 2025 Organizing Team

The selected projects will take part in a workshop led by renowned French mentors Corinne Destombes and Olivier Catherin. The workshop will culminate in a public pitching session open to both industry experts and general audiences. Awards include a 2026 MIFA Annecy participation, residencies, and additional awards (more info).
