Belly by Julia Pott

Julia Pott, a graduate of Royal Art College, UK, earned worldwide publicity when her first short, My first crush, had a million views on Youtube. Her latest short, Belly, also deals with the sea, but in a more mature way -but still subdued.

Oscar is coming of age, against his better judgment. In doing so he must experience the necessary evil of leaving something behind, but he can still feel it in the pit of his stomach.

Julia Pott manages to use an almost other-wordly manner of drawing to embed into a well-rehearsed, but still relevant narrative

Belly feels more like a sea folk tale, whose readers are happy to revisit again and again.
