Aneta Ozorek New Artistic Director of KLIK! Amsterdam
Aneta Ozorek will be taking on the role as artistic director at KLIK! Amsterdam. The Polish-born festival curator, illustrator, and film expert extraordinaire has over 15 years of experience in the industry and will be spearheading our international ambitions.
KLIK! Amsterdam always showcased programmes that ranged from racy to provocative (something that is highlighted in its mission statement). One would expect this tendency to continue, but somehow transform as well.
The Polish-born Aneta Ozorek has a strong background in curating and developing animation initiatives in Poland and other European countries. She is programmer of Cinema in Sneakers Film Festival in Warsaw, head of Short Section at Visegrad Animation Forum, and coordinator of Polish Animators Producers Association, and Polish Ambassador at the European Animation Awards, as well as member of European Children's Film Association.
She is the Illustrator of six books for children. She served as jury member at Berlin Film Festival, Odense Film Festival (Denmark), Barnefilmfestiwalen (Norway), Primanima (Hungary), BUFF (Sweden), ZLIN Film Festival (Czech) and others.
As new artistic director, she intends to further establish KLIK as a festival that finds unique ways to connect art and business; and to intensify the international promotion of Dutch animation in Europe and beyond.
Everything started with chaos: friends, poetry, an experimental approach, brave program decisions, and a passion for the art of the moving image. KLIK was always connecting and inviting, never exclusive. Always collaborating, never competing. To set up an inspiring path into the future, we aim to further establish KLIK as a platform that connects the greatest names in animation history with debutants and the biggest studios with independent artists. An innovative approach to connecting art and business will be a core element of the KLIK identity - Aneta Ozorek.
These news seems to conclude a radical re-shape of the Dutch animation festival field, which started with the 2018 collapse of Holland Animation Film Festival and the resignation of its artistic director Gerben Schermer.
The 11th KLIK! Amsterdam festival comes up in October 2018.
