Annecy 2014: Stop-motion, Off Limits and More Changes
The celebrated French Annecy festival (9-14 June 2014) comes up before the end of the year with some tidbits of its programming schedule for the 2014 festival.
- A tribute to stop-motion animation is scheduled for the 38th Annecy festival.
- The War of 1914-18: the Great War started 100 years ago, and Annecy 2014 will be devoting a retrospective programme for the occasion.
- Animation Off-Limits, a new competitive section for short films devoted to exploration, innovation and experimentation, will be added to the official selection.
The International Animation Film Festival has decided to call on a well known personality from the world of animation to create its poster (his name to be soon revealed).It has also reshuffled its conference format, and divided it into 3 categories (Creation - Business - Organisation of production).
The Features at Noon discussion now becomes Features in Competition Press Conferences. The first screening of a feature in competition will now be followed by a press conference with the film crew. Journalists will have priority access.
Online accreditation for the 2014 Annecy festival opens 22nd January. The Annecy call for entries for is still open till 15th February (all categories excluding features) and 15th March (feature films).
