Cinanima 2023 Winners: 'Our Uniform', 'Coyote', 'Almost Forgotten'

Cinanima 2023 Festival Winners

A definite shot against religious fundamentalists was the animation shorts winners in the 47th Cinanima Festival (13-19 November, Espinho, Portugal).

'Our Uniform' by Yegane Moghaddam won the Grand Prize at the Portuguese festival, by exploring the concept of uniforms in both education and public. "Uniforms are more than just a piece of clothing".

The film 'Almost Forgotten', by Dimitri Mihajlovic and Miguel Lima (world premiered at Animafest Zagreb) was the winner in the National Competition category.

Made in 2D animation and digital painting, the film is about a woman who wanders through the impermanence of her childhood memories, trying to reconstruct the history of the house where her grandfather lived.

The feature film category had the Hungarian 'Four Souls of Coyote' by Áron Gauder as its winner

Four Souls of Coyote is billed as an epic adventure tale of the Native American creation myth. Through a unique re-telling of the creation of the universe, the film highlights the increasingly pressing need to live in harmony with the environment before it is too late - Film Synopsis
