Animation Dingle 2025

Animation Dingle, in partnership with JAM Media, is now in its 12th year and celebrates student creativity and excellence in Irish and International animation. Animation Dingle is an Academy qualifying festival for Short Film Awards.

2025 Call for Entries

The festival is open to short films of all animation genres under 30 minutes, completed after 1 January 2024.

Awards and Competition

• Best Irish Animated Short Award
  The recipient of Animation Dingle’s Best Irish Professional Short Award is eligible for consideration in the Animation Short Film category of the Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules. Professional entries via FilmFreeway from Ireland and N. Ireland considered in this category.

• Best International Animated Short Award
  Professional entries via FilmFreeway from all countries outside Ireland are considered in this category.
• Animation Student Awards
  Animation Dingle will select a number of animated short films from our submissions and exhibit the work in our unique venues throughout the festival.
  Animation Dingle is a Student Academy AwardsⓇ approved Festival. This means for you that Student Films Selected and nominated for an award can now go forward to be nominated in the Student Academy AwardsⓇ in their Animation category providing it otherwise complies with the Academy rules.
