Event Description
The Estonian Academy of Arts’ Animation MA programme invites prospective master’s students to join the programme’s online info session on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 17:00 EET (local Estonian time).
This will be a good opportunity to hear more about the programme and to meet and ask questions directly from the people of the animation department – both the teaching staff and the current students.
The admissions period for the programme starts on the 1st of February 2026, and the application deadline is the 2nd of March 2026.

The Department of Animation was established at the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2006 and since 2007 it has offered a two-year MA in Animation (taught in English) curriculum. The program's main goal is to successfully educate creators of animated films, providing them with theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The further aim is to contribute to the global development of animation as an art form.
EKA Animation MA programme views animation as a powerful language for artistic expression and guides students in developing their authorial voice through collaborative, project-based learning that integrates theory and practice, fosters critical thinking and problem-solving, supports the creation of a strong international portfolio, and connects students with the global animation community through festivals, Erasmus workshops, and real-world experience, preparing them to become independent filmmakers, directors, or artists shaping the future of the medium. So far, EKA animation department and its students’ works have won over 150 awards at international animation festivals around the World.
