My Dog Tulip by Paul and Sandra Fierlinger Is Now Online

My Dog Tulip is  a 2009 film, directed by US animation director Paul Fierlinger, based on the 1956 memoir of the same name by J. R. Ackerley,  . It tells the story of Ackerley's fifteen-year relationship with his German Shepherd) Queenie (renamed Tulip for the book).

Christopher Plummer narrated Ackerley's voice, Isabella Rossellini provided the voice of the veterinarian, and Lynn Redgrave was Ackerley's sister Nancy.

My Dog Tulip  is a warm-hearted, exquisite film for people who don't like dogs. It was adapted, directed and animated by Paul Fierlinger  - with backgrounds and characters painted by his wife, Sandra Fierlinger.  The 2D animated feature (made with TV paint)  had a limited US theatrical release in 2009-10



The film won Best Feature Award at the 2011 Animafest Zagreb, and Honourable Mention for Best Animated Film at the 2009 Ottawa International Animation Festival.

Paul and Sandra Fierlinger in their Vimeo account, after many trials and tribulations with the film's distributors, decided to put the complete film online, for all to view.

Paul Fierlinger is the recipient of the Animafest Zagreb Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to animation in the upcoming June festival edition (4-9 June 2018)
