‘Pelikan Blue’ is a Hungarian animated documentary that tells the story of three young men who forged train tickets, opening the doors for exploring a world of new travel possibilities in '90s Hungary. At the 19th annual Bucharest International Animation Film Festival (Animest), storyboard artist Máté Horesnyi discussed designing the characters, working with director László Csáki, and finding inspiration in photography. ‘Pelikan Blue’ won both the Teen Jury Award and the Award for Best Feature (the trailer for the Hungarian animation doc).

This interview was conducted by Sergiu Inizian as part of the GoCritic! workshop at the 19th annual Bucharest International Animation Film Festival (Animest). The workshop was tutored by Ana Stanić.
