Croatian-Austrian animator Daniel Šuljić presents a retrospective of his 20-year work in animation in Zagreb (15 Oct).

A retrospective of the work of Daniel Šuljić is scheduled in Zagreb (Tuesday, 15 October, Cinema Tuškanac), celebrating the 20th anniversary of his first film Evening Star (1993). Born in Zagreb, Daniel Šuljić is one of Croatia and Austria's internationally recognised animators of the new generation.

He studied painting and got his animation degree in Vienna (Meisterklasse Attersee at Hochschulle fuer angewandte Kunst), under the tutelage of Hubert Sielecki. Since 2011, he is the artistic director of the prestigious Animafest ZAGREB festival.

In his film retrospective, audience will have the chance to see his student films, starting with his very first Evening Star (1993) and his graduation film, Sun, Salt and Sea (1997).

His most recent productions to be screened during the event are Kurzes leben (Short Life, 2007) and In chains (2011). The screening also marks the start of Daniel Šuljić's  work on his next film, Transparency, with a tentative 2014 completion date.

The screening event, 20 years of animation of Daniel Šuljić (Cinema Tuškanac, Zagreb) is part of the "Short Tuesday" framework, a Croatian Film Accociation monthly event dedicated to short films.
