Estonian Crocodile gets the Cartoon D' Or

Krokodille by Kaspar Jancis  (Estonia) narrates the story of a former opera singer who ends up wearing a crocodile costume to entertain kids in the store.

However, this costume brings changes to his personality and his behavior towards the woman he loves.

The bittersweet style of Krokodill triumphed over films such as the Oscar-winning Logorama.

The Cartoon d'Or award was created in 1991  in order to promote the art and talents of European animation.

It does not feature a competition program. Its finalists have already won prizes at various European animation festivals, and Cartoon Forum members select 'the best of the best'.

The prestigious Annecy Animation Festival (France), but also Anima (Brussels), and Anifest (Teplice, Czech Republic) festivals are among the partner festivals. Budapest, Hungary, hosted this year's event

Last year's Cartoon d'Or winner was the German David OReilly with his futuristic romance, Please Say Something.
