RIsing of Lusitania Animadoc Film Festival 2025: 49 Animation Docs Selected
In the words of the organizers of the Rising of Lusitania -Animadoc Film Festival (7,14, 21 September 2025), "like the legendary Sinbad, Lusitania sets off on its seventh voyage across the vast ocean of animated documentaries".
716 submissions and 100 countries were represented; ultimately, 49 animation documentary shorts were selected from 27 countries. 18 in the professional competition ("professional cabin"), 12 in the student competition ("student cabin"), 10 animation doc shorts in the MOCK<anima>DOC section.
9 animation docs will screen in the non-competitive Panorama section ("Panoramic View from the Command Deck").
As every year, a 3-person Professional Jury (Małgorza Bosek-Serafińska, Katarzyna Dąbkowska, and Radosław Łabarzewski, so traditionally a mix of animation and documentary) and a 3-person Student Jury (Hanna Tkachova, Ida Woźniak) will sit on the captain's bridge and choose the films they find most interesting. Audience awards will also be handed out.

The 7th RISING OF LUSITANIA will take place in ŁÓDŹ (the city name in Polish means BOAT), on three Sundays of September (07, 14, 21). On October 12th, a special PANORAMIC VIEW FROM THE COMMAND DECK will be presented, and a Spanish feature documentary with animated excerpts - PALOMA NEGRA: THE QUEEN OF AMPHETAMINES - will have its European premiere.
