Event Description

Anifilm’s mission is to present current trends, methods, technologies and animation techniques in its programme. It also supports works in progress and brand-new animation projects and their authors, producers and distributors. Film professionals from all over the world can use Anifilm as a platform for positive confrontation and a meeting place for forging new contacts. Anifilm is aimed at authors and film professionals as well as students, educators, film theorists and all fans of animated production, including children. Anifilm also wants to represent the Czech Republic in an international context on a long-term basis.

2027 Anifilm Festival Call For Entries

Eligibility:

- More than 50% of the work is an animation; the animation technology used in the film is not restricted, use of AI must be mentioned and specified.

- Only works completed after January 1st, 2026, that have not previously been submitted to the festival can enter the competition. 

The international competition programme consists of the following categories:

• Feature Film for adults: For films longer than 60 minutes.
• Feature Film for children & young audience: For films longer than 60 minutes.
• Short Film: For films of 59 minutes or less made by professionals (out of school).
• Student Film: For films of 59 minutes or less made by students.
• Abstract and Non-Narrative Animation: For audio-visual works using the principles of animation in the widest possible sense.
• Music Video
• VR Film: For films designed for virtual reality – animated 360° videos.
• Videogame: The jury gives awards for the best game for children and for the best visual art.
• Student Videogame: The jury gives awards for best student game. For European videogames only.
