Event Description
CEE Animation is an umbrella for regional activities to promote and develop animation and its talent in more than 20 countries in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The objective of CEE Animation is to raise the competencies of professionals and give them equal access to financing and the markets as their Western peers, by fostering co-production and sustainable business models.
Each year, the organizers invite almost 200 film professionals to follow the competition between the most promising European animation projects.

Submissions are open to international animated projects in 4 categories:
- Feature Films (minimum length of 60 minutes; in concept or in development),
- Series and TV Specials (TV and web series of any format and single films, minimum length of 20 minutes; all stages of development except for concept stage),
- Short Films (maximum length of 20 minutes; all stages of development -except for concept stage- or pre-production)
- Student Short Films (maximum length of 20 minutes; all stages of development -except for concept stage- or pre-production)
An animated project is a project in which at least 50% of the film under consideration is executed using animation film technology or takes the form of multimedia audio-visual work with emphasis on the graphical aspect.
Participation Fee
Successful applicants whose projects are selected have to pay the participation fee by 15 August 2026. Upon selection of the project, fees apply as follows:
- Category FEATURE FILMS fee: EUR 350 per project
- Category SERIES / TV SPECIALS fee: EUR 350 per project
- Category SHORT FILMS: EUR 200 per project
- Category STUDENT SHORT FILMS: EUR 100 per project
The fee includes 2 accreditations to the CEE Animation Forum 2026: online pitch consultancy session before the event, onsite technical support and pitch rehearsal, onsite presentation of selected project in front of the audience, pre-scheduled one-to-one feedback meetings with jury members of your category, access to the programme of the CEE Animation Forum 2026, promotion of your project (PR, webpage, social medias). Costs of travel and accommodation are paid by the participants.
Selected projects will compete for a number of valuable awards, including the official CEE Animation Forum Awards, the CEE Animation Workshop Award (scholarship), and various partners’ awards. The total value amounts to 50,000 EUR in cash and non-monetary awards.
