CEE Animation Forum 2023

Event Description
CEE Animation is an umbrella of regional activities for the promotion and development of animation and its talents in more than 20 countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The objective of CEE Animation is to raise the competencies of professionals and give them equal access to financing and the markets as their Western peers, by fostering co-production and sustainable business models.
Each year, the organizers invite almost 200 film professionals to follow the competition between the most promising European animation projects.
2023 Call for Entries
Submissions are open to European animated projects in development or in production in 4 categories:
• features films – minimum length of 60 minutes; in concept, in development or in production,
• TV or web series and TV specials – TV and web series of any format and single films, minimum length of 20 minutes; all stages of development except for concept stage,
• shorts films – maximum length of 20 minutes; all stages of development except for concept stage,
• Rising Stars – student short films, maximum length of 20 minutes; all stages of development except for concept stage,
The selection is also open to the international productions with projects thematically bound to the CEE region.
Only producers (or other project rights-holders) can submit projects on behalf of the project team. Producers must hold the rights to the project including:
• the right to present the project and any of its parts (including video in any form) to the public,
• the right to publish information on the project and any of its parts in any form (e.g. website or catalogue).
For the category Rising Stars (student films), the applicant has to have the consent of her/his school to apply and present the project to the public
Both members of the project team (director/scriptwriter and producer) must have citizenship or permanent residency in one of the following countries:
Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta,Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine.
Successful applicants whose projects are selected have to pay the participation fee by July 31, 2023. Upon selection of the project, fees apply as follows:
• Category FEATURE FILMS fee: EUR 300 per project
• Category SERIES / TV SPECIALS fee: EUR 300 per project
• Category SHORT FILMS: EUR 180 per project
• Category RISING STARS: EUR 50 per project
