StopTrik Festival Selection results for stop-motion animation films

The full lineup of the 13th  StopTrik Festival (Maribor, Slovenia,  27.9. – 1.10.2023) and Łódź (Poland, 8.-10.12.2023) has been revealed. The festival continues to foster stop-motion animation in all its expanses (including the 'Borderlands' competitive section), now expanding to stop-motion films for children as well.

In this edition, 71 animation films were selected (Michał Bobrowski, Brina Fekonja, Jelena Dragutinović in the selection team) out of more than 400 entries sent to the festival

The International Competition Programme of Stop Motion Animation features 21 films by established filmmakers (Anita Kwiatkowska-Naqvi, Ana Nedeljković and Nikola Majdak Jr., Ivana Bošnjak Volda and Thomas Johnson Volda, Carlos Montoya, Kaspar Jancis)  and students or newcomers (among them Julia Benedyktowicz, María Lucía Bayardo Dodge).

The Borderlands competition will feature 10 experimental /stop-motion hybrid films (check out Yegane Moghaddam’s Our Uniform, and Max Hattler's 二〇二〇, two of the selections).

21 films feature in the non-competitive Panorama programme, and 3 programmes of children's stop-motion films (6-8, 9-11 and 12-14 years old) complete this year's selection.
