Asia Animation Forum 2016: Call for Proposals
The 2016 Asia Animation Forum (AAF) (23 -25 October 2016, KOMACON, Korea) intends to rediscover the value of Asian animation and establish a global network to promote further cooperation in the fields of education, creation, industry, and policy.
Organized within the framework of BIAF (Bucheon International Animation Festival), the AAF2016 seeks to explore the meaning of animation in the various aspects of imagination. Imagination and creativity blur the boundaries between art, media, and genre and extend the areas of animation limitlessly. Today, animation, the collective of imagination is omnipresent.
CATEGORIES & TOPICS
The festival invites proposals related to the following 3 categories for 20 minute presentations within the topic "Animation+ Collective of Imagination" .
Proposals may include topics in the various aspects of humanities, technology, education, policy, industry, and creation:
■ Creative Imagination : Technology, Aesthetics
This program not only searches for a variety of application areas of animation which is steadily expanding in the interaction process of the creative imagination and high-technology, but also seeks the new aesthetic value.
■ Collective Imagination : Culture, Identity
This program explores the (trans)national and artistic identities as well as (cross-)culture of many different Asian countries based on the collective imagination embodied in animation.
■ Convergent Imagination : Education, Policy, Industry
This program considers the present and the future of the animation education, policy or industry which are requiring the convergent imagination.

The deadline for proposal submissions is July 3, 2016.
Accepted presenters must submit a proceeding paper by August 28, 2016.
Submitted proceeding papers will be published in the AAF2016 presentation source book. F urthermore, the full papers of accepted presenters will be reviewed for publication in an international academic journal 'TechArt' or Korean academic journal 'Cartoon & Animation Studies'.
