Anidox 2016 Residency: Call for Applications
The Animation Workshop is a 25 year-old animation film school located in Viborg, Denmark. Its AniDox: Lab is an animation documentary continuous training project, in partnership with the Danish Film Institute and supported by the MEDIA Programme of the EU.
The purpose of both Workshop and Lab is to bring together documentarians and animation film directors, to maximize their artistic capacity and develop their respective projects, for creative research and forming new collaborations.
Animation Workshop now advertises the AniDox:Residency, a programme for the production of animated documentary short films.
Building on the already existing Open Workshop artist residency and AniDox:Lab training programme at The Animation Workshop, AniDox:Residency will make it possible for one animated documentary short film of high artistic quality to be produced every year from 2014-2017, leading up to a screening event at the European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017 (whose support it has already secured).
The Animation Workshop will host the production and provide studio facilities, workstations, housing for the director, production support as well as financial support.
The residency program is open for international filmmakers.
Production is expected to start in January 2016, and the film premiere is expected to take place in January 2017.
The Animation Workshop will provide:
• Studio facilities
• 2 workstations with relevant software
• Technical support
• Housing for the director (single bedroom w. shared facilities)
• Production support
• Financial support for materials and as salaries which amounts to ca. 250.000 DKK (approx. 33.000 EUR). The amount is subject to change and depends on the Aarhus 2017 grant.
